Congratulations to Professor Paul Dupree who has received the B.A. Stone Award for excellence in plant polysaccharide biochemistry.
The B.A. Stone Award is the highest award in this field and is conferred only occasionally. It consists of a medal and honorarium that were presented to Paul at the XV International Cell Wall Meeting, held in Cambridge, for his contributions to knowledge on plant cell wall polysaccharides.
Speaking about the award, Paul said: "I am honoured to receive the B.A. Stone Award. I feel this award recognises the exceptional innovation in methods, and also the many major discoveries in plant cell wall biochemistry, that over the last 20 years I have made with my research group."
The B.A. Stone Award recognises outstanding contributions to our understanding of the cell wall and more generally to carbohydrate biochemistry. It was initiated and is sponsored by Megazyme International in honour of Bruce Arthur Stone (1928-2008), Emeritus Professor of Biochemistry at La Trobe University in Victoria, Australia.
