We would very much like the relationship between any alumnus/alumna and the Department to go beyond the time spent in Cambridge. Alumni can play an active role in the future successes of our institution and the one of the next generation of scientists who will choose to study here.
There are several ways how you can get involved; these are just a few examples:
Be our ambassador
As part of the Department’s centenary celebrations, we are reconnecting with alumni to develop a network. You can be an advocate and ambassador for us and help to connect with other alumni and get them involved in our activities.
Offer career support to our students
You can share with us vacancies in your organisation that may be of interest to our students and postdoctoral researchers, or you might encourage your company to host a student as an intern.
Or maybe you might prefer to help Cambridge students find their feet in the world of work by becoming a mentor. To become a mentor, join the Alumni Careers Connect, a global network for University of Cambridge students, researchers, and alumni where members can view the career paths of hundreds of Cambridge alumni around the world and get in touch with them to ask for career-related advice.
Philanthropic giving
You can make a donation or be a fundraising champion and encourage your organisation or other alumni to sponsor our events, fund research projects, studentships, or to provide student prizes and awards.
Here you can see some of our fundraising priorities.
