The Department's buildings are currently open for wet laboratory work only. We have carried out a comprehensive COVID-19 risk assessment process and have introduced a number of new measures to ensure the safety of our staff, including reduced building occupancy, strict social distancing, 'family'-based working, and increased cleaning and hygiene regimes. Congratulations to Sio Ball and Svetlana Khoronenkova for their successful applications to the Marmaduke Sheild Fund.

 

Together, they have been awarded nearly £12,000 towards the cost of three pieces of equipment for the Department:

  • Versemax-R 96 well plate reader and Glomax luminometer, located in the Teaching Classroom,
  • Eppendorf 5804R refrigerated centrifuge with A-4-44 rotor and tube adaptors, located in Svetlana's lab.
