Plant scientists at Cambridge and Norwich have been awarded £12 million funding for a new UK synthetic biology centre, OpenPlant.

 

The Cambridge element of the programme is strongly multidisciplinary. As well as staff in the Department of Plant Sciences, it will involve Paul Dupree and Chris Howe from the Department of Biochemistry, and others from the Department of Pathology, the Department of Physics, and the Sainsbury Laboratory. Chris Howe says "This is a very exciting development, and further strengthens Cambridge's position as one of the foremost centres for multidisciplinary plant science in the UK."
