The Part III Symposium took place on Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th January in the Sanger Building Lecture Theatre.

All of the Part III Class attended the Symposium, which was divided into six thematic sessions: Chemical and Synthetic Biology, Structural Biology and Drug Discovery, RNA Biology, Cancer and Signalling, DNA-Protein Interactions, and Metabolism and Biosynthesis. These groupings reflect the astonishing breadth of projects that are undertaken by our MSci students. Most of the students are based in the Department, although we have four at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, one in the Gurdon Institute and one student at the CRUK Cambridge Institute. As usual, the students' talks were of a very high quality and even though they were only reporting on one term's work, all of the students had some preliminary results to show. We are looking forward to the update in April, when we get to see their research plans come to fruition.
