We are happy to advise anybody in the Department considering to buy computer
equipment and help decide what hardware, software and peripherals would best suit the
intended purpose.
PC or Macintosh hardware to be used for research, teaching,
administration or as communal workstations in the Department can be
purchased through us. We will take care of the ordering, configuration
and installation of the equipment and software. We will make sure that
your order is processed promptly and that the equipment will be in good
working order as it reaches you.
This service is free of charge and we will then take care of
your machine for the next three years providing you with a single
point of access for all your hardware, software and network problems.
We will maintain a central database of all machines purchased/registered in this way
and take care of warranty issues, should they arise
and provide necessary[1]
software upgrades, hardware repairs and any additional support to maintain
the safe
running of the system for the next three years.
