Disposal and transfer of hazardous chemicals and other waste materials

The disposal/transfer of hazardous chemicals is controlled by strict regulations regarding identification, segregation, packaging and transportation. The University has Guidance on the disposal/transfer of hazardous chemicals which should be read thoroughly.

The Biochemistry Department has its own local Information and Guidelines (Biochemistry & CSCR only) for the correct routes for disposal/transfer of all types of material. You must follow these procedures.

All hazardous chemicals which are due for disposal/transfer must be cleanly and safely packaged in a container suitable for the purpose, clearly and fully labeled with the contents and submitted for disposal with a fully completed copy of the attached form below. Please read this form carefully before proceeding.
