On 13th January 2014 the Department held its annual Research Day. This year it was at a new venue, Robinson College. Ten talks by academic staff about their work included three by new members, on widely varying topics. The talks gave an insight into how many years of careful work could be needed to achieve results and touched on some of the latest developments in different areas of research. The programme showed the breadth of research in the Department and the importance of collaborations, often involving groups in several countries, and how truly international our science is. Thanks to our administrative staff and Robinson College the day went very well, with a lively atmosphere throughout.
