Welcome to the Department of Biochemistry, one of the largest departments in the University.
Our research is funded by the EU, Wellcome Trust, British Heart Foundation, BBSRC and MRC, amongst others. We have attracted many outstanding independent research fellows, and several of our senior staff have been seconded to prestigious fellowships.
Our teaching programmes for undergraduates and postgraduates attract the best students from the University and beyond. Our teaching and research staff are committed to training the next generation of biochemists, who go on to play roles in many aspects of scientific research, industry, government and teaching.
